about black sheep heap

Black Sheep Heap, a small business committed to progressive design, is the brainchild of Brooklyn-based artist, Jennifer Harris. Silkscreen designs are printed with water-based inks on 100% recycled or organic cotton, and all Black Sheep Heap packaging is made of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Learn more about organic cotton here.

JenIn addition to designing the ever-growing Black Sheep Heap line, Jen has partnered with NYC non-profit Just Food (which works to develop a just and sustainable food system in the city) to create a series of shirts to raise awareness about that organization and its initiatives.

The Beet The System t-shirt was recently featured in Oprah Magazine, and in 2008 a Black Sheep Heap graphic is featured in large scale on the set of the Food Network show, Chopped.

Most recently, Jen designed a t-shirt graphic for the international non-governmental organization CAMFED, dedicated to girls' education and poverty eradication in Africa. Look for the CAMFED runners wearing the t-shirts in the 2009 NYC Marathon.

You can find Black Sheep Heap stuff on the streets of New York, in quirky small boutiques and on Etsy: your place to buy and sell all things handmade.
