Black Sheep Heap is a small, progressive design house focusing on projects that promote sustainability, laughter, and social justice.

We do custom graphic creation and screenprinting, as well as producing our own line of hand-printed organic apparel and recycled bags, using water-based, non-toxic inks. All of our packaging is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

Green Business SealAs of December 2010, Black Sheep Heap is an Approved member of the Green Business Network, a distinguished and celebrated group of companies that use their products and services as a vehicle for social and environmental change. We are proud to earn this Seal of Approval, which is one of the most respected and recognized symbols in the green marketplace.

You can find Black Sheep Heap stuff in quirky small boutiques and on Etsy: your place to buy and sell all things handmade.

Jen’s first designs were inspired by a trip to India, and by subsequent conversations she had with friends interested in environmental activism. The AVANT-GARDENER and BEET THE SYSTEM designs grew directly out of discussions with a particular friend, an eccentric coffee-fanatic who now runs her own community-oriented cafĂ© (Trouble Coffee) in San Francisco. She was inspired by Russian avany garde posters when creating those graphics.
